Fortinet to Introduce its New FortiGate-300C Appliance at GITEX 2011

New Multi-Threat Security Appliance Delivers Price/Performance Breakthrough for Mid-Sized Organizations and Large Enterprise Branch Offices

Fortinet, a leading provider of network security appliances and the worldwide leader of unified threat management (UTM) solutions - today announced that it will introduce the newest member of its FortiGate® multi-threat security appliance product family at this year's GULFCOMMS, a major ICT trade event running under the 2011 GITEX Technology Week taking place from October 9 to 13, 2011 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC). The FortiGate-300C is specifically designed for mid-size organizations and large enterprises with strategic branch offices requiring optimal security protection for keeping pace with today's volatile threat landscape. The FortiGate-300C features one of the highest port densities and price/performance ratios of any product in its class to deliver advanced Firewall, VPN, Application Control and Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) functionalities in a single appliance.

Designed with eight FortiASIC(TM)-accelerated ports for maximum throughput, the FortiGate-300C appliance delivers wire-speed firewall and IPSec VPN performance as well as application control acceleration to provide optimized security capabilities without imposing latency in high-speed network environments.

To help organizations protect their assets and network infrastructures in the face of a constantly evolving threat landscape, the eight accelerated ports on the FortiGate-300C facilitate the creation and enforcement of segmented security zones with policy control previously available only within larger-scale solutions.

The FortiGate-300C is also designed to evolve with organizations that consistently re-architect their networks for greater performance across distributed environments by integrating onboard storage for WAN optimization as well as advanced local logging and reporting capabilities.

The FortiGate-300C will be showcased at Fortinet's Stand No. Z-M1 at DICEC's Zabeel Hall. Other Fortinet products featured will include: the FortiGate-5140 chassis-based carrier-grade security system; the FortiGate-3950B enterprise-class multi-threat security appliance; the FortiWeb-1000C enterprise Web Application Firewall; the FortiMail-3000C secure messaging system; and the FortiAP-220B secure wireless thin access point appliance launched earlier this year.

"As the protection of data and IT assets has become a top priority, enterprises have been looking for high performance security solutions, at the right TCO levels, that can protect their applications, databases, networks and remote locations," said Bashar Bashaireh, Regional Director at Fortinet Middle East. "We are pleased to be part of the Middle East's top ICT trade events, as this is a great platform for us to demonstrate how our end-to-end IT security solutions can help organizations of this region benefit from integrated and high-performance protection against dynamic security threats while simplifying their IT security infrastructure."

GITEX Technology Week is considered the gateway to the Middle East, one of the world's fastest-growing and investment-ready ICT markets. It connects over 3,500 domestic and international IT vendors with more than 135,000 ICT professionals.
