SKT 2500MT Integrated Multi Tasking Turning Center
In this day and age of JIT and Agile Production, finishing the part in one handling, one setup and in one machine is of utmost importance. The SKT2500MT is and example of such a machine. Combining turning and milling machine functions on 4 axis' makes the SKT 2500MT an integrated multi tasking turning center. It incorporates KIA's unique B-axis. The high speed ATC unit can store up to 22 tools. Options are also available for holding 43 or 65 tools. The sub-spindle enables the finishing of a complex work piece in a single set-up (optional).
To enable the manufacturing of more complicated parts, the tool head with contouring B-Axis comes with 0.001 degrees NC indexing. The SKT 2500MT exhibits an excellent ability of working simultaneously with 4 or 5 axis' providing a truly integrated process, which works well in the aircraft industry. The symmetrical head stock comes with a built-in spindle motor, which helps prevent heat generation. The spindle motor has 30 (40 HP). The SKT2500MT comes with a Fanuc 18ITB as standard with 320 meter (1,050 ft) memory. It is also available with the Fanuc 16iTB controller. As a further option, the 1st and 2nd operations can be done by main and sub spindle.
