ACS Develops Eight Reel Rewinder for Small Floor Spaces

March 16, 2004

Are your multi-reel take-ups taking up too much space on the production floor? Automated Control Systems of New Haven, IN has developed the Wyndmaster 348, a fully automatic eight reel take-up designed for applications with limited floor space.

The Wyndmaster 348 has the smallest available footprint of any eight reel take-up on the market. It can be used with any product strip up to 3" wide, and any reel diameter up to 30". The machine receives product at speeds of up to 600 IPM. Standard features include paper interleaf operation, a tangential feeder for careful product handling, a one-minute changeover between overwind and underwind mode, and automatic sample strips with programmable length.

Options available with this machine include dual strip operation, adjustable product tension, programmable paper tension, high speed/high torque motors, and corrosion resistant materials.

The Wyndmaster 348 uses a four position horizontal indexer with two reels at each position. This machine is suitable for use with high speed stampings, rubber and plastic extrusions, and other continuous product strips.

The Wyndmaster 348 is the first in a group of ACS take-ups with expanded reel capacity. A ten reel rewinder is currently in development and will be available later this year.
