Multi-Point Astragal
The new Multi-Point Astragal is available at a fraction of the cost of more traditional multi-point locking systems found only on the highest end French Doors. Endura's innovative design requires no additional hardware or extensive machining and the astragal operates off of standard lockset deadbolt packages, allowing for easy installation and retrofitting to existing door units. By incorporating a Multi-Point locking feature along with the proven patented "floating boot" sealing system of the Ultimate Astragal, the Multi-Point astragal secures the active door and prevents any leakage due to deflection. The design and mechanics of the Multipoint Astragal are unique - the Multipoint lock is operated with the throw action of a standard deadbolt, providing two additional points of engagement between the active and inactive doors at the top and the bottom of the panels.
An additional standard feature of the Multi-Point Astragal is Endura's new Flip Lever operation of the upper and lower Flush Bolts. The elegant, single-stroke, flip lever-action secures the top and bottom flush bolts in one smooth motion, while the deadbolt engages the active door with the top, middle, and bottom of the astragal. Its spring loaded design solves any issues created by inconsistent or short depths of drilling for flush bolt retention. This creates a French door system secured in four points of contact between the active and inactive doors to fend off wind loads, reject air and water infiltration and provide unrivaled strength.
