FISO Technologies Introduces the First Fiber-Optic Based Multi-Parameter Test Kit

Convenient, FISO's new Dynamic Multi-Parameter Test Kit allows measurement of several parameters all at once.

QUEBEC, QC - May 5, 2005 - FISO Technologies, a leading developer and manufacturer of high-quality fiber optic sensors and measurement systems for R&D and industrial applications introduces the Dynamic Multi-Parameter Test Kit, the first multi-parameter equipment based on the Fabry-Perot (FPI) optical sensor technology.

Designed to offer acquisition speed meeting today's scientists' greatest needs, the Dynamic Multi-Parameter Kit features a variety of Fabry-Perot (FPI) fiber optic sensors covering a wide range of applications found in laboratories or research centers. The system includes temperature, pressure, strain and refractive index sensors. "With the Dynamic Multi-Parameter Test Kit, FISO is combining all the essential Fabry-Perot sensors together, creating the ideal instrument when multi-channel, simultaneous and fast data recording is required" said Francois Pelletier, Vice-President Sales and Marketing at FISO Technologies.

All these parameters can be measured at once using FISO's BUS signal conditioner and acquisition system, providing absolute measurements with high accuracy and reliability. In addition, FISO's BUS system is configured with 2 channels, offering simultaneous-reading with a sampling rate of up to 1 000 Hz. Flexible, the system is upgradeable to up 8 channels per chassis, can be cascaded, and allows controlling from a remote computer.

"Fiber-optic sensors using FPI are currently highly-desired on the market because of their great versatility, their high performance and their wide dynamical range. With this kit, we allow scientists to measure any physical or chemical parameter they may encounter all at once. Our dedicated engineering team is able to help us come up with complete solutions for our customers." said Luc Langlois, Product Line Manager.

The Dynamic Multi-Parameter Test Kit is available immediately at a basic configuration price of 13 180 $US per kit. It includes the following components:

- 2-module BUS system (upgradeable to up to 8 modules per chassis)

- Two fiber optic temperature sensors

- Two fiber optic pressure sensors

- Two fiber optic strain sensor

- One fiber optic refractive index sensor

- FISO's BUS Commander Software
