Multi-Gas Detectors provide continuous monitoring.

Press Release Summary:

Model G20 can be configured for 1 or 2 gas sensors, while G40 can be configured for 1 to 4 sensors. Both have programmable alarm setpoints for TWA, STEL, and 2 gas concentration levels per sensor. User interface is via 4 keypad buttons, menu-driven LCD display, and 3 LEDs. Detectors are housed in chemical-resistant, high-impact plastic case, water resistant to IP65. Microsoft® Windows(TM) compatible software charts gas exposure levels and calibration records.

General Monitors Offers Portable, Multi-Gas Detectors for Continuous Monitoring of Oxygen, Combustible, and Toxic Gases

- Large menu-driven, reversible display provides for easy setup, viewing and operation -

LAKE FOREST, Calif. - December 16, 2002 - General Monitors offers the Models G20 and G40, two and four-gas portable detectors that provide optimum mobility and convenience. The detectors are designed for applications where fixed gas detection is neither practical nor present, including petrochemical and chemical plants, public utilities, wastewater treatment plants, mining, refineries, tunnels and semiconductor manufacturing. Gases detected include carbon monoxide, oxygen,
LEL/combustible, hydrogen sulfide, chlorine, chlorine dioxide, sulfur dioxide, nitric oxide, and nitrogen dioxide.

The Models G20 and G40 provide superior performance even in extreme environments. Both are recently approved by the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA), a designation only given
to equipment that meets the highest level of safety standards. The Models G20 and G40 proved themselves capable of surviving the harshest testing conditions while maintaining accuracy and
repeatability.

The G20 detector can be configured for either one or two gas sensors, while the G40 can be configured for use with one to four gas sensors. Sensors are interchangeable, allowing for multiple configurations using a single detector. Both detectors have programmable alarm setpoints for TWA (Time Weighted Average), STEL (Short-term Exposure Limit) and two gas concentration levels per sensor. The user interface is via four keypad buttons, a menu-driven LCD display, and a bank of
three LEDs. The LCD display offers easy setup and operation, while the text can rotate 180° for easy viewing when either holding or belt mounted. Gas readings and battery status are
simultaneously indicated. Microsoft® Windows(TM) compatible software charts gas exposure levels and calibration records.

User adjustable alarm conditions are provided by a combination of audible alarm (90 dBA), LCD display, and LEDs (green, yellow and red). Recorded data can be downloaded from the G20/G40
when it is installed in the optional battery charger via an RS-232 connector.

The detectors are housed in a chemical-resistant, high-impact plastic case rated water resistant to IP65. Weight is 14 oz. for the G20 and 16 oz. for the G40. Approvals include UL, CUL, CENELEC, CE Marking and MSHA. Accessories include manual or electric sample pump kits, calibration kit, data logging software, battery charger, external sample pump, sample probe, flow housing, neck and wrist straps, carrying case, and car lighter adapter.
