Multi-Circuit Explosive Initiator offers range up to 1 km.

Press Release Summary:

Consisting of securely coded RF initiator, Breach MC allows single operator to coordinate multiple initiations. To stagger explosions, operators can create up to 10 firing groups, containing any number of receivers, or they can select Fire All mode to initiate simultaneous explosions. Initiator is suited for electro-explosive device applications, including Explosive Method of Entry and remote disruptor activation for Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Unexploded Ordnance tasks.

Chemring Technology Solutions Launches World's First Short Range Multi-firing Initiator System

POOLE, England, -- Visit Stand H35 at Counter Terror Expo 29-30 April, Olympia London

Chemring Technology Solutions [ http://www.chemringts.com today launches Breach MC, a lightweight, multi-circuit explosive initiator which is the only short range selectable firing system available in the market.

Breach MC is a securely coded Radio Frequency (RF) initiator which allows a single operator to coordinate multiple initiations, removing the need for several operators and reducing the risk of human error. To stagger explosions, operators are able to create up to ten firing groups, containing any number of receivers, or they can select the 'fire all' mode to initiate simultaneous explosions.

With a range of up to 1 km, Breach MC is ideal for use in electro-explosive device applications, including Explosive Method of Entry (EMOE) and remote disruptor activation for Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) and Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) tasks.

To deliver flexibility in the field, Breach MC uses the same transmitter for both electronic and shock tube receivers. Using commercial off the shelf batteries also maximises the operational availability of Breach MC.

To ensure operator safety, secure coding and data validation checks prevent inadvertent initiation of the receiver. At the point of manufacture, customers can also select the frequency which their Breach MC system uses to ensure that it operates within the correct band and to avoid interference from other electronic systems.

Mike Luedicke, General Manager of Chemring Technology Solutions in Poole, said: "Breach MC builds on the success of our current Breach initiator system, but gives operators more flexible options. It delivers a new system that is quick, convenient and safe, supporting them to achieve their mission more effectively."
