New KUKA KR 16 EX Robot Safest Available Robot for Explosive Environments
Clinton Township, Michigan - June 14, 2005 - KUKA Robotics Corporation, a leading global manufacturer of industrial robots, today announced the introduction of its new KUKA KR 16 EX(TM) robot designed for use in potentially explosive environments. The robot is designed for use in environments such as paint rooms where fine gases, dust or vapors are present and pose a potential explosion risk. The robot, which is EEx certified for explosion protection, is pressurized and sealed making it virtually explosion proof so that it can be used in these inhospitable environments without the worry that the robot would ignite gases, dust and vapors.
