Moxa to Demonstrate Cloud-Based Solar System Monitoring at Solar Power International in Chicago

BREA, CA – Moxa announced today it will be showcasing its solar dataloggers with a live cloud-based panel monitoring demonstration at the Solar Power International Conference Exhibition, taking place October 21-24, 2013 at McCormick Place in Chicago. Solar PV and inverter manufacturers, system integrators, distributors or anyone who would like to learn more about the latest solar applications are invited to visit Moxa booth #4622.

"Moxa is one of the industry's leading providers of technology for monitoring solar production, and our new smart dataloggers take our competitive advantage to the next level," said Steve Frank, Business Development Manager for Embedded Computing. "With our deep experience in industrial-grade networking and communication equipment, we've been able to develop technology specifically for the needs of the solar industry with the hardened specifications and certifications for residential, commercial, and utility-scale installations."

Solar energy is often regarded as the most efficient renewable source for generating electricity, but constant monitoring, management and control is necessary to ensure maximum energy output. Moxa has played a leading role in solar data logging for more than a decade, working closely with customers to find new, innovative ways to capture solar electrical performance measurements and to package them into actionable data sent across a network.

In addition to dataloggers, Moxa manufactures a suite of network hardware solutions for the solar industry including industrial-grade embedded computers, servers and switches needed to manage a highly dependable, efficient renewable energy plant. Its hardware enables users to easily and quickly monitor and retrieve real-time inverter and weather data over Ethernet networks and the Internet, and is currently being used by leading providers of solar monitoring solutions.

"Our technology is based on extensive real-world experience working with the solar industry," Frank said. "I believe this year's SPI visitors will be very excited to see the new solutions Moxa will be presenting."

Moxa is a founding member of the SunSpec Alliance which works to promote information standards for higher interoperability in the renewable energy industry. To help drive solar industry standardization, the company recently made its own 311 kW solar array available to manufacturers for product testing and verification. Moxa's efforts to advance renewable energy have been recognized by the California State Legislature and other government bodies.
