Canton, MA, September 6, 2005---Copley Controls has tripled the force rating of its direct drive ServoTube moving rod linear actuators. The new models develop continuous force from 35 to 66 pounds and peak force from 167 to 418 pounds. Nine stroke lengths from 33 to 318 mm are available. The actuators provide 20 microns repeatability, velocity to 4.6 m/s, and acceleration to 435 ms2.
A breakthrough in magnetic design enables the actuator's non-contact Hall position sensor to eliminate the traditional external position encoder. Integral solid-state sensing lays the foundation for IP67 rating, installation ease, food-safe operation, and outstanding control flexibility. ServoTube actuators are equipped with long life, lubrication-free bearings that ensure quiet operation and provide years of maintenance-free production. The actuator's combination of power, speed, and repeatability maximize throughput, while superior controllability brings seamless integration into PLC control systems.
Powerful ServoTube actuators provide a cost effective drop-in alternative to servo-controlled air cylinders in flexible manufacturing automation. No compressed air and no continuously operating compressor needed! The actuators also replace ballscrew and belt drive positioners. The actuators are used with versatile Xenus controllers, which run on 120/240 AC.
