Motorola Design Win Demonstrates Applicability of the MicroTCA Standard Beyond Telecom

Hypercom payment network products mark key milestone in adoption of new
Standard

TEMPE, Ariz., May 30 // - Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT)
today announced the industry's first design win based on the MicroTCA(TM)
specification for communications computing applications. High security
electronic transaction solutions provider Hypercom Corporation (NYSE: HYC),
will integrate Motorola's Centellis(TM) 1000 series communications server into
Hypercom transaction network products that will be used to transport
point-of-sale (POS) transactions globally. The use of the Centellis 1000
series for the high security transport of electronic payments marks a new
application for the MicroTCA standard, expanding its value beyond the original
target markets.

"Current industry trends indicate that MicroTCA has growing interest in
multiple industry segments in addition to telecom," said Paul Zorfass,
director of the Embedded Hardware and Systems practice at VDC. "This
announcement demonstrates that the MicroTCA standard, while at an early stage,
is mature enough for real design win activity. It shows the Motorola
commitment and leadership in this high potential computing, communications,
and control platform market."

"Motorola's Centellis 1000 series will help us accelerate the delivery of
our high security network transaction products to new global markets by
providing an advanced and system oriented platform as the foundation for next
generation POS networking products," said Neil P. Hudd, Senior Vice President,
Global Product Development and Marketing at Hypercom. "Our products already
support more than 500 leading financial institutions, government institutions
and large networks in 109 countries, and integrating Motorola's Centellis 1000
series will help us quickly broaden that footprint."

"Motorola has been a driving force in building the infrastructure to make
MicroTCA technology market-ready for the telecom, medical, defense and other
industries," said Stephen Dow, vice president and general manager, Embedded
Communications Computing, Motorola, Inc. "Hypercom's pioneering use of
MicroTCA in point-of-sale network products demonstrates its broad
applicability to applications beyond the industries for which it was initially
targeted.

"As such, we believe this design win will help accelerate the adoption of
the MicroTCA standard by encouraging other customers to begin their own
projects based on this powerful new technology."

Centellis 1000 Series Communications Server
Motorola's Centellis 1000 series is a MicroTCA communications server
designed to support many applications in a wide variety of industries,
including telecommunications, medical, defense and aerospace. A highly modular
design enables the Centellis 1000 series to provide a pay-as-you-grow
scalability model that allows customers to realize cost-optimized
solutions-expanding computing platform capabilities in small, low-cost
increments as demand for new services or applications increases. This
advantage makes the Centellis 1000 series an ideal choice for many telecom
access applications such as DSLAM, WiMAX base stations and IP PBX. More

About MicroTCA
MicroTCA is a specification managed by the PCI Industrial Computer
Manufacturers Group (PICMG(R)), also the driving force behind AdvancedTCA(R)
and Advanced Mezzanine Cards (AdvancedMC(TM)) specifications. MicroTCA
technology was designed to support communications intensive applications,
interconnecting AdvancedMC through a backplane. It uses the hot-swap and
switch fabric capabilities within the AdvancedMC specification to define a
modular scaleable computing platform that is cost-effective and can also
address applications that require up to 5NINES service availability.
