Motorola Announces Enterprise Wireless Industry Milestone with the Sale of its 100,000th Wireless Switch

Pioneer of Centralized WLAN Gains Lead Position for WLAN Switch Units Sold

SAN JOSE, Calif., Sept. 19 / / - Motorola, Inc.
(NYSE: MOT) today announced that it reached another milestone in the
enterprise mobility market by selling its 100,000th wireless LAN (WLAN)
switch, the most by any vendor in the market. Motorola - through its
acquisition of Symbol Technologies - is an innovator and pioneer in the WLAN
market with many industry firsts, including the wireless switch. The 100,000th
wireless switch was purchased by Belgian retailer Colruyt Group. Motorola also
holds the lead position for selling the most WLAN switches in the second
quarter this year, according to market research firm Dell'Oro Group.

"Motorola's wireless switch is the foundation for our mobility strategy,"
said Angelo Van Damme, Network Specialist of Colruyt Group. "The Motorola WLAN
allows us to mobilize our operations and staff, providing real-time access to
information, and enabling better customer service at our retail stores."

In 2002, Symbol Technologies introduced the market's first modern WLAN
switch architecture, a breakthrough that significantly lowers the cost of
deploying network infrastructure and simplifies managing, maintaining,
securing and upgrading wireless systems.

According to Dell'Oro Group's July 2007 WLAN Forecast Report, the global
Enterprise WLAN switch/appliance market is projected to rise from $406 million
to $1.2 billion by 2011, reflective of a 25 percent compounded annual growth
rate (CAGR)(1). Also, according to Dell'Oro Group's 2Q07 WLAN Report, Motorola
sold the most Enterprise WLAN switch units, becoming the new market leader
with 33 percent market share(2).

"Businesses trust Motorola's enterprise WLAN solutions to mobilize their
business-critical applications. Reaching this customer milestone is a
testament to our legacy of innovation, and our expertise in deploying
enterprise wireless switches," said Sujai Hajela, vice president and general
manager of Enterprise WLAN, Motorola Enterprise Mobility Solutions. "With WLAN
switching, we enabled the deployment of some of the largest WLAN deployments
because the centralized architecture allows for ease-of-deployment,
scalability and manageability. Today's customers are demanding mobility
services such as voice and location-based services enhanced for business
productivity, and these need a secure, scalable and manageable WLAN
infrastructure."

Motorola's Enterprise WLAN solutions enable seamless mobility within
buildings and across campuses. Products in the Enterprise WLAN portfolio
include thin, full-function and mesh access points, wireless switches and
radio frequency (RF) switches that can manage up to 3,000 access points.
