New Motorized Potentiometer Features Special Clutch and Spring Return

Grass Valley, CA - August 14, 2007 - Spectrum Sensors and Controls introduces a new motorized rotary potentiometer only 0.906" in diameter with special clutch and spring return. This new potentiometer is mounted on a 1.313" Servo Mount flange and powered by an ultra smooth Micro M6 motor. With a long rotational life of 100,000 cycles minimum, this motorized rotary potentiometer is ideal for high reliability applications such as a helicopter activator sensor.

Spectrum's motorized rotary potentiometer has an electrical angle of 340° absolute, output smoothness of 0.1% max, an absolute linearity of ±0.5 at center tap, a resistance range of 1kX - 20kX ±10% and uses a passivated stainless steel shaft. These potentiometers have turret type, side located, gold plated terminals and the clutch module housing is anodized aluminum.

Spectrum's linear and rotary potentiometers utilize a co-molded conductive plastic element for a hard smooth surface and greater long-term reliability compared to raised circuit element potentiometers. In Spectrum's process the termination and resistance materials are simultaneously molded with the base substrate.

Spectrum Sensors & Controls new 0.906" diameter motorized rotary potentiometer is priced at $130 and up depending on quantities and configurations.
