Motorized Micromanipulator Offers High Resolution and Easy Control

Vancouver, BC – Zaber’s new M-LSM Series motorized micromanipulator delivers high resolution and easy control options for applications that involve positioning probes under a microscope with either a joystick or computer.

The M-LSM features an adjustable probe holder that can mount probes with diameters between 2 and 13 mm; using the holder, probes can be rotated a full 360 degrees and easily locked in position.

Multiple mounting options (either to metric or imperial optical breadboards), and right or left-hand orientation options make the M-LSM easy to configure for different types of applications and systems.

Plug and play connectivity to Zaber’s T-JOY joystick (included in the accessory kit, along with two A-MCB2 stepper motor controllers) also makes the M-LSM easy to control in velocity mode.

Besides offering high resolution finer than 0.05 µm, the M-LSM delivers 25 mm travel along three axes (XYZ), 0.5 kg load capacity, up to 14 mm/s speed, and up to 15 N thrust. The A-MCB2 controllers can also connect the device to the RS-232 or USB port of any computer for additional computer control.

About Zaber Technologies Inc.

Zaber Technologies designs and manufactures high-precision positioning devices. In the late 1990's, Zaber introduced the world’s first precision linear actuator with all control and drive electronics integrated into one compact package. Since then, Zaber’s product line has grown to include a wide range of motion devices, most with optional built-in controllers and drivers. Zaber’s devices are used worldwide by researchers, engineers, systems integrators, and OEMs in any industry that requires precision positioning, including photonics and optics, microscopy, biomedicine, industrial automation, material science, and measurement and instrumentation.
