With the new generation of the Ziehm Vision RFD Hybrid Edition, the innovation leader Ziehm Imaging presents a mobile C-arm tailored exactly to hybrid OR requirements. Fully motorized in four axes, intuitive joystick operation, intelligent collision protection and maximum image quality with minimal dose levels - these features make the new C-arm the best solution for all hospitals that ask for mobile and powerful imaging in hybrid ORs.
Innovative motorization
Mobile C-arms offer a flexible, space- and cost-saving alternative to fix installed systems and are winning over more and more hospital users. With its latest system Ziehm Imaging is driving forward the development of mobile imaging: "With the new generation of the Ziehm Vision RFD Hybrid Edition we are offering, for the first time, full motorization of a mobile C-arm in four axes: horizontal, vertical, orbital rotation and in angulation. Each position can be stored at the touch of a button and called up again at any time," says Klaus Horndler, managing director of Ziehm Imaging. "This allows the operator to access the desired viewing angles and anatomic visualizations without having to constantly reposition the system on the OR table."
The operator must deliberately touch any two contact points on the joystick (Position Control Center) with the fingers to activate movement of the C-arm - any accidental operation of the C-arm is thus prevented. The joystick module also has a function for defining an isocenter around which the system moves concentrically. In addition to numerous orthopedic applications (e.g. spine), the isocentric functionality offers added clinical value, in particular for cardiac applications.
Intelligent collision protection
Collision protection ensures maximum safety and is guaranteed for the first time with a mobile C-arm via object detection without any contact - comparable to the park distance control feature in a car. The system recognizes instruments, human tissue and standard OR materials, and stops within millimeters before it touches the patient or an instrument.
Minimum dose, maximum image quality
"Most vascular procedures previously carried out invasively, can now be performed minimally invasively thanks to endovascular techniques. Mobile imaging plays an increasingly important role here," says Dr. William Julien, President of South Florida Vascular Associates. He uses the C-arms from Ziehm Imaging for these procedures: "The motorized Ziehm Vision RFD is the best mobile system on the market."
The new Hybrid Edition is the only mobile C-arm to offer an active liquid cooling system (Advanced Active Cooling) in the standard version - this was previously only the case for permanently installed systems. Advanced Active Cooling keeps the generator at a consistent operating temperature and prevents it from overheating. It thus ensures reliable imaging without interruption even during lengthy procedures. The Ziehm Vision RFD Hybrid Edition delivers crystal-clear images with its rotating anode and 25 kW power. SmartDose, a comprehensive concept for dose reduction, combines a host of functions such as laser positioning, ODDC (Object Detected Dose Control), adaptive filtering technology and PreMag (radiation-free magnification), which enables a dose reduction of up to 20% with the same high image quality.
