We are proud to offer our business partners and customers another great addition to indoor air quality solutions that contribute to the overall efficiency of the air system with the emphasis on “green,” sustainable homes, IAQ, and energy savings.
Sanford, NC -- Trion®, an innovative, international company dedicated to providing quality products for the commercial, industrial, and residential markets since 1947, is proud to introduce the latest product offering in residential indoor air quality. The Trion Motorized Damper (TMD520) is designed to introduce fresh air into the building envelope through an intake damper that is controlled by the microprocessor-based ventilation control interface. The system controls the amount of outdoor ventilation, promoting healthier indoor air quality, required by the Ventilation and Air Quality Standard defined in ASHRAE 62.2. This standard defines the roles of, and minimum requirements for, mechanical and natural ventilation systems and the building envelope intended to provide acceptable indoor air quality (IAQ) in low-rise residential buildings.
According to Energy Star, a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, indoor air can be many times more polluted than outdoor air, and the average American spends 90 percent of the day inside. Ventilation systems can significantly improve a home’s air quality by removing allergens, pollutants, and moisture that can cause mold problems. When homes rely on air flow through walls, roofs, and windows for ventilation, there is no control over the source or amount of air that comes into the house. In fact, air leaking into the house may come from undesirable areas such as the garage, attic, or crawl space. Mechanical ventilation systems, however, provide proper fresh air flow along with appropriate locations for intake and exhaust.
With a quick, easy installation and set-up, the TMD520 is beneficial in satisfying ventilation as well as controlling application-specific ventilation set points.
The TMD520 is a fresh air damper solution applicable for apartment complexes, condominiums, single family homes, and light commercial dwellings with features that include:
Sizes ranging from 5” to 20” in diameter
Adjustable damper position range stops
Single-blade damper
Galvanized steel
Shipped as power open/spring closed
Can be field-converted to power close/spring open
Blade closes off tightly against gasket for minimal leakage
Rated to operate up to 1 in. wc
Male (crimped) and female (uncrimped) ends to connect to any rigid or flexible round duct
“We are proud to offer our business partners and customers another great addition to indoor air quality solutions that contribute to the overall efficiency of the air system with the emphasis on “green,” sustainable homes, IAQ, and energy savings,” says Mitch Johnston, Director of Residential Sales at Trion.
