High Performance 3-Phase Brushless DC Motor Controllers
TUCSON, AZ --- Apex Microtechnology Corporation, an industry leader in motion control, high power op amps, and PWM amplifiers is pleased to announce the release of three new brushless DC motor drives as part of its motion control product family. The new BC05, BC10, and BC20 deliver substantial output power from the compact 2 in. x 4.4 in. footprint shown at the right.
The BC drive family features 3-phase full bridge operation with 2 or 4 quadrant PWM and selectable 60° or 120° commutation. The controller drives the motor, generates the PWM, decodes the commutation, and provides both error amplification and motor coil current sense. Analog motor current output can be used for either torque control or for transconductance amplifier drive. Using the BC controllers to drive a 3-phase brushless DC motor requires only an appropriate power supply, analog control inputs, and Hall sensor feedback. Four-quadrant operation is possible in open or closed loop systems as well as 2-quadrant operation with direction control.
