New Radio-Controlled Cable Reels Provide Easy Access to Power and Keep Installation Costs Down

Omaha, August 8, 2004 - Insul-8 Corporation has announced the launch of a new line of motor-driven cable reels that are now available with a radio-control option.

The result of ongoing development and extensive testing, the product line is a significant addition to the firm's already established family of cable reels. In a single package, users will find an easy to install, high-performance cable reel that is simple to operate.

The product is based on Insul-8's highly successful cable reels and proprietary radio controls that, together, form a new line of products with benefits not previously available. These benefits include easy accessibility from remote, out of the way locations; low installation costs; safety; and ease of installation in existing facilities since no control wiring is needed.

The new line of remote-controlled cable reels are designed to store up to 200 feet of cable with from 4 to 36 conductors, ranging from 30 to 150 amps.

The radio control system, based on Insul-8's radio frequency control technologies combines the latest in RF and microprocessor design. The radio controls feature secure and reliable control by implementing 4.3 billion unique security codes, error detection, high noise rejection, field programmability, and large operating range (330 ft), all in a small light weight ergonomic package.

Mark Zuroske, Engineered Product Specialist for Insul-8's motor-driven reels, commented on the company's latest innovation. "For over 60 years Insul-8 has been the leader in 'mobile electrification.' Our engineers are continually looking for ways to help users safely, economically, and reliably get power and control signals to anything that moves. This new product is a direct result of those efforts."

Zuroske continued, "This is the only cable reel on the market operated by remote control. Designers, builders, and engineers will find it ideal for use in locations where lighting or power is located out of reach. It also has tremendous benefit for applications where a single operator must be able to pull out the cable and operate the reel simultaneously - without a remote-controlled solution, two people would be required. Now, the reel can be operated in a safe, reliable manner for many, many different applications. And its rugged industrial design makes this product ideal for even the harshest environments."

Based in Omaha, Insul-8 Corporation has been a pioneer in cable reel and radio controls for over 60 years. Their cable products are used to safely, effectively and economically conduct electricity to mobile equipment and systems.
