Motor Controls handle steppers or servos.

Press Release Summary:

ESH 1000 PCI boards provide 2 or 4-axis control for stepping motors or servomotors. Servo contol loop is PID filter with feedforward coefficients, while stepping-motor control pulse is TTL-level square wave with 50% duty cycle. Feedback from quadrature encoders detects slips and stalls, and can be used as servo feedback, stepper-axis feedback or independent-position feedback. Controllers have dual-port RAM for capturing motion profiles.

Original Press Release:

PCI Bus Simplifies Motion Control

Our CyberResearch® intelligent stepping motor controllers with on-board microprocessors have always offered sophisticated motion profiling. The new ESH 1000 series controllers add the convenience of PCI-bus software-controlled settings, including 2 or 4-axis control with up to 4 encoder inputs. ESH 1000 series PCI boards control either stepping motors or servomotors. Not only are the 12 general-purpose control bits optically isolated, so are the home and overtravel inputs. These intelligent controllers also provide a dual-port RAM for special functions such as capturing motion profiles.

Servomotor control outputs can be set to ±10V or 010V. Either way, you get 16-bit precision, or 1 part in 65,536. The servocontol loop is a PID filter with feedforward coefficients. The stepping-motor control pulse is a TTL-level square wave with a 50% duty cycle. It supports velocities of 01,044,000 pulses/second.

Feedback from quadrature encoders detects slips and stalls, and can be used as servo feedback, stepper-axis feedback, or as independent position feedback. Feedback circuits support quadrature signals up to 4 MHz.

In addition to ESH 1000 series motion controllers - now shipping from stock - CyberResearch, Inc., also offers PC and data-acquisition systems and accessories.
