RISCO Group USA Introduces Intelligent Request-To-Exit Detectors

iREX and iREX Plus Are Latest Additions To Suite Of Integrated Security Products.

Melville, NY (August 13, 2009) - RISCO Group USA, a leading provider of integrated security systems, is introducing the iREX and iREX Plus intelligent passive infrared (PIR) motion detectors, two UL-listed detectors that are flexible enough to serve a variety of request-to-exit (REX) applications.

The iREX detector can be wall- or ceiling-mounted (up to 15 feet), offers selectable Fail Safe or Fail Secure mode and provides adjustable relay latch time. Rotating the lens position on installation can provide a variety of coverage patterns and detection ranges (up to 8 feet). The digital PIR motion detector offers remote input for parallel door control; a door lock opens either upon iREX motion detection or if triggered by an external device (such as a card reader, keypad, additional PIR sensor of if a burglar alarm system is disarmed). Other features include single or double-door use (two Form C relays are selectable, normally closed or normally open); an LED to indicate motion during a walk-test, and operation with 12 to 30v AC or DC power.

The iREX Plus detector provides additional security incorporating IQ Logic (Intelligent Queuing); motion detection is enabled only on the condition that an additional device (such as a floor switch, additional PIR or keycard) has been activated. IQ Logic eliminates the possibility of someone gaining unauthorized entry by sliding an object under the door to trigger the sensor. iREX Plus also provides Door Secure Mode to prevent unwanted persons from entering after a valid exit, and Door Alarm Mode to activate an internal buzzer (85dB with adjustable volume and direct external activation) if the door is forced or left open too long. There is a protective tamper switch that activates if the detector's cover is opened.

"We are pleased to bring the iREX and iREX Plus intelligent request-to-exit detectors to the U.S. market as part of RISCO Group USA's technologies for the integrated security marketplace," said Len Friedman, President and CEO of RISCO Group USA. "These additional products get us closer to realization of RISCO Group's vision to offer a full suite of proven system solutions for a broad spectrum of users."

Both iREX and iREX Plus meet the most stringent request-to-exit requirements, and have ample wiring space for quick-and-easy installation.
