Motion Controller supports Ethernet communications.

Press Release Summary:

Model RMC75E provides closed loop position, speed, and pressure/force control for hydraulic, pneumatic, and electric servo applications at rate of more than 1,000 times/sec. Ethernet interface can be used to download parameters and variables from master controller and to upload production information to factory information systems. Interface delivers speeds of 10/100 Mbps with full- or half-duplex operation along with auto-negotiation and auto-MDix crossover detection.

Delta Adds Ethernet Communications to the RMC70 Series Motion Controllers

September 1, 2005 - Vancouver, WA - Delta Computer Systems, Inc. announces the RMC75E, a new member of the company's RMC70 Series of one- and two-axis motion controllers that supports Ethernet communications.

The RMC75E Ethernet communications interface can be used to download parameters and variables to modify motion control programs from a master controller such as a PLC or industrial PC and also to upload production information from the Delta controller to factory information systems. This interface features speeds of 10/100Mbps with full- or half-duplex operation along with Auto-negotiation and Auto-MDix crossover detection. The initial release supports Modbus/TCP, Allen-Bradley CSP, and EtherNet/IP Explicit Messaging, providing compatibility with most common industrial TCP/IP protocols.

As a member of Delta Computer Systems' RMC motion controller family, the RMC75E provides closed loop position, speed and pressure/force control for hydraulic, pneumatic and electric servo applications at more than 1000 times per second. Feedback transducer module options include analog, magnetostrictive, and synchronous
serial interface (SSI). Field expandable modules for discrete and analog I/O add even more flexibility, enabling easy retrofits into existing hydraulic systems to provide
improved control.

The RMC75E also provides a 12 Mbps USB interface that is employed for controller configuration and programming through a standard "B" receptacle for communication to
PCs. USB also gives the user high speed motion graphing and diagnostics for tuning and debugging using RMC70Tools software.

"This offering adds popular Ethernet protocols to the present Serial and PROFIBUS capabilities on the RMC70 Series motion controller" stated Steve Nylund, CEO of
Delta. Nylund added "The RMC75E is the one and two axis complement to Delta's RMC100 Series multi-axis motion controller; one of the first EtherNet/IP certified products on the market."
