Worldwide public refrigerated warehouse automates first of 20 facilities.
BEVERLY HILLS, CA - August 27, 2007 - The first installation of Motek's® Priya® Warehouse Management System (WMS) is now live at Spire Group Ltd.'s 2,251,000 cu. ft. Public Refrigerated Warehouse (PRW) facility in Montreal, Canada. Spire Group, through its subsidiaries Everest Cold Storage and Arctic Cold Storage, plans to implement Priya globally over the next five years in Toronto and Calgary, Canada, China, India, Romania, Russia, the United States, and the Ukraine.
"Our goal of building smart warehouses requires a state-of-the art WMS that can be consistently deployed in multiple languages and locations across our rapidly growing global customer base, quickly, easily and reliably," said Robb Lockie, Director of Information Technology for Everest Cold Storage. "Priya's quick formula for easy deployment at our Montreal facility has demonstrated the capabilities we need to roll out a solution of this magnitude".
Spire Group selected Priya for its robust functionality including engineered labor standards, third-party logistics (3PL) billing, flexible reports, and voice enabled RF picking capabilities. Priya's Windows-based product architecture will enable individual warehouses within the Spire network to quickly and easily configure Priya to support customer specific requirements without custom programming. In addition, Priya seamlessly interfaces to existing customer IT systems. For Spire Group, these inherent features translate to a low total cost of ownership.
"Priya ensures we build smart warehouses by providing comprehensive management systems for receiving, billing, picking, customer communication and employee labor standards," added Lockie, who considered numerous solutions and conducted in-depth interviews with Priya users before selecting Motek.
The Spire management team that built Atlas Cold Storage into a dominant force in the North American PRW market intends to replicate its success on an international level with Spire Group. "Spire's executive team is known in the PRW refrigerated warehouse market for driving innovation and leveraging leading-edge systems to create world-class warehouses", said Motek sales consultant Frank Testani. "The ease with which they took Priya live coupled with the ability to bring their team fully up-to-speed quickly underscores Motek's commitment to delivering advanced capabilities and a significant and fast return on investment."

About Motek - motek.com
Founded in 1991, Motek is the warehouse management software technology leader. Motek's single, all-inclusive product, Priya, is the only Tier 1 Microsoft Windows(r)-based WMS available today. Priya manages and tracks all warehouse activity, inventory, equipment, and operators in real time with the use of wireless radio frequency computers, voice technology, and Engineered Labor Standards. Because it runs on Windows, Motek's solution is cost-effective for the 50,000 square foot warehouse, yet powerful enough to handle the 1,000,000+ square foot warehouse. Motek's reputation for innovation began when the Smithsonian Institute recognized it for being the first RF WMS on a PC. Since then, Motek has been the first WMS on Windows, the first WMS with real-time engineered labor standards, and the first Windows WMS with voice recognition.
