Monitoring System determines when drying is complete.

Press Release Summary:

RheoVac DR uses dual probe system to provide real-time monitoring of air flow and water vapor flow under vacuum, allowing users to positively determine when drying is complete. Unit also monitors pressure, total mass and actual volumetric flow, relative saturation, and temperature. Unit offers backlit display, operating pressure range of 0-29 in. HgA, operating temperature range of 40 to 160°F, and max temperature of 210°F.

New Monitoring System Reduces Vacuum Drying Costs

INTEK, INC., manufacturer of Rheotherm® and RheoVac® precision flow instruments, introduces the RheoVac DR for real-time monitoring of vacuum drying systems. The RheoVac DR uses the same technology that has been in place in power plants, for the past nine years, to measure air in-leakage into the steam turbine condenser. The dual probe system measures air flow and water vapor flow under vacuum, thereby allowing engineers and operators to positively determine when drying is complete. Tighter process control and shorter drying cycles reduce energy consumption and maximize yield. One chemical manufacturer reported a reduction of approximately $2 million in operating costs over a four-year contract.
