Mold Design Application allows users to customize database.

Press Release Summary:

MoldDesign 3D application combines full automation with true flexibility in one, fully associative application. Database automatically links different parts of mold to mold assembly, drawing layouts and machining toolpaths. Cimatron E utilizes unified solid-surface-wireframe modeling environment to allow users to manipulate imported data or create conceptual part designs. Cimatron E implements 2.5- to 5-axis toolpaths.

CIMATRON TECHNOLOGIES TO EXHIBIT NEW MOLD DESIGN APPLICATION AT EASTEC 2002

Livonia, MI, May 1, 2002 - Cimatron Technologies Inc., a subsidiary of Cimatron Ltd. (NASDAQ: CIMT), a leading developer of CAD/CAM solutions for the tooling industry, today announced the release of MoldDesign, Cimatron's new 3D mold design application. The application will be presented at EASTEC 2002, the east coast's largest annual manufacturing show, May 21-23, at the Eastern States Exposition Grounds, West Springfield, Massachusetts.

Cimatron's MoldDesign combines full automation with true flexibility all in a single, fully-associative, specialized application that accelerates the design and assembly of complex tools. The application completes the width of Cimatron E solution for the tooling industry. MoldDesign's associative database automatically links the different parts of the mold to the mold assembly, drawing layouts and machining toolpaths. This associativity dramatically increases productivity throughout the design and manufacturing process. MoldDesign offers most of the standard components available and allows users to create and add customized components to the mold base library.

Cimatron E encompasses a set of powerful, easy-to-use 3D design tools. The unified solid-surface-wireframe modeling environment allows the user to manipulate imported data, or create conceptual part designs with equal ease. In the design process, Cimatron E contains integrated tools to split part geometry, finds and implements engineering changes, creates electrodes and inserts, and details tooling components. During manufacturing, Cimatron E implements 2.5- to 5-axis toolpaths using high-speed machining, knowledge of stock remaining and templates to drastically reduce programming and machining time. The mission-critical tasks of splitting the model, applying engineering changes, and extracting electrodes and inserts are all handled by "Quick Tooling" wizard-based applications.

Kevin Crute, CEO of Cimatron Technologies, comments "The MoldDesign application offers customers powerful tools to improve mold quality and increase productivity. I believe that the release of Cimatron's MoldDesign will help us maintain the strong and continued level of customer and industry loyalty we've been experiencing worldwide."
