Modules facilitate plant communication.

Press Release Summary:

With isolation levels up to 5,000 Vrms, CyMOD(TM) 7000 Modules monitor and control shop floor equipment. Most communicate on twisted-pair RS-485 buses, with up to 256 modules on single bus, while others communicate over USB and Ethernet lines. Units mount anywhere on DIN rails, accept unregulated 10-30 Vdc power, and operate at temperatures from -13 to +167°F

Original Press Release:

New CyMOD(TM) Modules Simplify Plant Communication

More than 30 new CM 7000 modules from CyberResearch, Inc. make it easier than ever to monitor and control shop-floor equipment. With isolation levels up to 5,000Vrms, all of them communicate on simple twisted-pair RS-485 buses, with up to 256 modules on a single bus. Some also talk over USB and Ethernet lines.

The new CyberResearch® CM 7000 line of communications and control modules was deliberately designed to simplify in-plant networking. Its primary communication protocol is twisted-pair RS-485, which permits multiple speeds and data formats on a singe bus. For example, two extra checksum bytes can be enabled or disabled. You can install up to 256 modules on a single bus without a repeater, or up to 2048 modules with repeaters.

If you already have Ethernet or USB networks established, converter modules accept those protocols and convert to RS-485. The Ethernet converters assign unique addresses to daughter RS-485 modules, so the host can send commands to and receive responses from each module individually.

CM 7000 modules mount anywhere on DIN rails, accept unregulated 10~30Vdc power, and operate at temperatures from -13 to +167°F.

In addition to CyMOD 7000 remote DAS modules from $135 - now shipping from stock - CyberResearch, Inc., also offers rugged industrial PCs, as well as monitors and motion-control systems. For more product information, call Joe Tetreault at 800-341-2525, or visit http://www.cyberresearch.com/CYMOD.
