Original Press Release:
Wildeck Expands Patented AutoSenz Safety System - Now Standard on VRC Lifts
New AutoSenz® M-Series modular safety sensor is now included with Wildeck® Mechanical and Hydraulic Vertical Lifts and available for Retrofit on Existing VRCs.
Enhanced AutoSenz® D-Series for mechanically-operated lifts includes complete system diagnostics and Digital User Interface with new VRC service/maintenance reminder.
Waukesha, WI - Wildeck, Inc. - With thousands of vertical material lifts installed in diverse material handling applications around the globe, Wildeck has strengthened its position as an industry leader announcing that its patented AutoSenz® technology (U.S. Patent No. 7,408,317) is now standard on its mechanical and hydraulic VRCs (Vertical Reciprocating Conveyors). The company's new modular safety sensor - the AutoSenz® M-Series - is now an integral part of the VRC's control system providing standard auto-ranging overload/VRC jam protection that will minimize damage to material and equipment should items become jammed during the lifting operation. Existing mechanical and hydraulic VRCs can also be upgraded with an AutoSenz® M-Series Retrofit Module adding a new level of safety and security on installed units, and peace-of-mind for VRC operators and facility managers.
"No other VRC on the market today offers this level of safety and protection to move valuable products and materials," states Hue Schlegel, Director of Marketing for Wildeck, Inc., "Many Wildeck mechanical VRC customers have embraced the original AutoSenz® feature (first introduced by Wildeck in 2007) and have made it a requirement for safer VRC lifting throughout their facilities. I can think of no better compliment than that," Schlegel said.
In addition to the new AutoSenz® M-Series for both mechanical and hydraulically-operated VRCs, Wildeck also announced that it has enhanced its original AutoSenz® design for mechanical VRCs to incorporate an innovative VRC service and maintenance reminder. The new feature can be programmed to appear on the display at specific service time intervals; by the factory, the end-user, or VRC service technician. Wildeck's optional full-featured AutoSenz® package - which provides a PLC with digital user interface, easy-to-use pushbutton controls, system diagnostics capabilities, and the new VRC service/maintenance reminder - has been re-named the AutoSenz® D-Series.
AutoSenz® VRC safety systems automatically sense motor load current and determine the critical overload setpoint each time the VRC motor starts. Since VRC motor loads change depending on the weight of material that is placed on the lift, the auto-ranging capability of Wildeck's patented design makes it far superior and safer than any fixed setpoint motor overload system.
According to Wildeck, if material shifts and accidentally projects off the side of a VRC carriage and enters the running / clearance zone, the material could become wedged between the carriage and side of the building or other surrounding equipment or structure. Since standard VRCs are designed to provide their full lifting force, an accidental jam could cause severe equipment and facility damage. Both of Wildeck's AutoSenz® overload detection systems are designed to stop the VRC in its tracks and alert the operator so corrective action can be taken.
"Our innovative AutoSenz® technology," states Schlegel, "has been proven on countless VRCs over the past three years and is redefining safe material lifting throughout the industry. In response to our customers, who have stated that it is an essential safety feature, we are proud to include our base AutoSenz® module as a standard on all traditional VRCs. And, for customers who want programmability and full diagnostics, we offer our PLC version with digital display. AutoSenz® clearly positions Wildeck's VRCs as the most innovative and safe material lifts on the market today."
Wildeck VRC lifts with AutoSenz® technology are ideal for transferring valuable inventory, parts, and heavy bulky materials between levels in distribution centers and warehouses, manufacturing and assembly plants, government and military facilities, and numerous other applications.
