Original Press Release:

Siemon's New Angled TERA®-MAX®Patch Panels for 10Gb/s Screened and Shielded Cabling Systems

Space-saving 1U 24-port angled patch panel is designed to facilitate patch cord routing without the need for additional rack-mount cable management.

WATERTOWN, Conn., Feb. 23 -- Siemon is proud to launch an angled version of their popular TERA-MAX modular patch panel. Designed to support Siemon's category 6A 10G 6A(TM) F/UTP (screened) and category 7 fully- shielded TERA solutions, this new panel meets or exceeds all 10GBASE-T standard requirements as part of an end-to-end 10G 6A F/UTP or TERA system.

The new angled configuration allows patch cords to be routed directly into vertical cable managers, eliminating the need for additional horizontal cable managers and saving valuable rack space. This not only provides increased density, but also offers more aesthetically pleasing patch cord management. For more information and specification sheets, visit: www.siemon.com/us/category7/

Like the flat TERA-MAX, the angled version supports Siemon's Quick- Ground(TM) features, which significantly simplify grounding for 10Gb/s screened and shielded systems. As TERA or 10G 6A F/UTP modules are snapped into TERA-MAX panels, they automatically connect to the panel's integrated ground bar with no additional steps. All that is required to complete the ground is a 6 AWG wire connection from the TERA-MAX panel's ground lug to the equipment rack. Provided that simple grounding and bonding standards have been followed for the active equipment (a standards requirement for networks supported by both unshielded and shielded cabling), this one additional step is all that is required to properly ground a screened or shielded cabling system.

The angled TERA-MAX patch panel accepts all Siemon MAX and TERA outlets and connectors. It features integrated rear cable management and strain relief features for the simple routing of horizontal cable.

Siemon's full end-to-end 10G 6A F/UTP channel consists of screened 10G 6A MAX outlets, Siemon category 6A F/UTP cable and TERA(R)-MAX patch panels as well as screened 10G 6A MC(TM) patch cords and the screened version of Siemon's innovative high-density BladePatch(R) patch cord. The TERA system features the TERA outlet, fully shielded Siemon category 7 cable, TERA-MAX patch panels as well as TERA to RJ45 and TERA-TERA Patch cords.

Both systems are supported by multiple work area faceplates and surface mount options in addition to a full suite of Siemon rack and cable management products.

TERA and 10G 6A F/UTP solutions are a part of Siemon's comprehensive 10G ip(TM) line of 10Gb/s capable cabling systems. 10G ip includes end-to-end solutions in UTP, F/UTP, Category 7/Class F TERA, multimode and singlemode fiber. Visit www.siemon.com/ for more on Siemon's 10Gip line.
