Modular Ink Jet Printer prints 1 in. high characters.

Press Release Summary:

Using micro-valve technology for outer-case coding applications, Marsh® 320 prints at speeds of up to 200 fpm with 40 dpi print quality via precision drop placement. System, equipped 7.4 or 10.4 in. color touch screen GUI, can print 2 lines of 7 dot high characters. Print heads are able to operate with 15-20 mm throw distance allowing them to print onto uneven and curved surfaces. Controller can run up to 4 print heads and 2 independent production lines at the same time.

Large Character, Medium Resolution Printing From The Marsh® 320 Ink Jet Printer

Wood Dale, IL (USA) - Videojet Technologies Inc. has announced the release of the Marsh® 320 large character ink jet printer. The 320 printer is a versatile, modular large character ink jet printing system. This printer uses revolutionary "micro-valve" technology to deliver simple solutions for outer-case coding and other medium to large character applications.

o Precision drop placement delivers superior print quality (up to 40 dpi)
o Graphical user interface and touch screen ensure ease of use
o Reliability and low ink consumption minimize cost of ownership
o Print speed of 200 feet per minute (61 m) at 40 dpi

The print heads for the Marsh 320 printer are based on innovative micro-valve technology and can deliver quality print up to 1 inch (24 mm) in height. This technology also enables the system to print two lines of 7 dot high characters. The print heads are able to operate with a greater throw distance (15~20 mm), allowing them to print onto uneven surfaces such as plastic and paper sacks, and curved surfaces such as plastic and metal drums. Marsh 320 printheads deliver superior print performance, with higher print resolution and higher print speeds. Each Marsh 320 controller is designed to run up to a total of four (4) print heads and has the ability to run two independent production lines at the same time (dual-tasking).

Printer control is enabled via a 7.4" or 10.4" color touch screen graphical user interface. This makes operation easy, and enables languages and character sets to be changed simply and without lengthy software reconfigurations. The controllers are housed in IP-42 rated stainless steel enclosures, and have Ethernet connection to enable communication with print stations and other networked devices up to 328 feet (100 m) away.

Because the print heads in the Marsh 320 printer build messages with a large number of small dots instead of the smaller numbers of large dots of competitive models, fluid consumption can be significantly reduced. Precision manufacturing of the printheads results in more consistent performance and greater reliability in operation.

The Marsh 320 print heads are designed to run with many types of fluids, providing customers maximum flexibility with substrates and drying times. Currently, the Marsh 320 printer is available with both fast-dry MEK-based black, blue and red inks and water-based black inks.

The Marsh 320 ink jet printer is backed by Videojet's TotalSource® system, the most complete technical support program in the business. It includes everything from expert applications assistance, to operator training and a full spectrum of maintenance services. The TotalSource program ensures total customer satisfaction.
