Modular Controller offers system flexibilty.

Press Release Summary:

Dual-loop, DIN-rail SRV autotuning Brilliant PID controller, available as Heat only or Heat/Cool, features air/water-based cooling algorithms. Power supply and control circuits reduce heat generation inside control panel, while power consumption can be as low as 1 W per PID control loop. Side-mating connectors for communication and power supply enable up to 32 modules to be linked together to control up to 62 loops. Product includes 2 alarms, 2 event outputs, and one event input.

RKC Instruments Announces a Modular Dual Loop Din Rail Controller with System Flexibilty

SOUTH BEND, IN - RKC Instrument announces the release of the SRV dual loop modular type controller. It may be used alone as a dual loop controller or can be connected to build a system with up to 62 loops of control Available as Heat only or Heat/Cool, the SRV was designed with numerous performance enhancements from the previous generation. This autotuning Brilliant PID controller features both air/water based cooling algorithms for precise control. A new technology power supply and control circuits reduce heat generation inside the control panel. The power consumption can be as low as one watt per PID control loop

The SRV mounts to a DIN rail or can be screw mounted. The dual control modules snap away from the modular base to allow access to the field changeable output modules. The output modules can be replaced without rewiring the SRV.

Side mating connectors for communication and power supply enable modules to be linked together easily and compactly. This side mating connector allows the user to spread his I/O across the machine to minimize the machine wiring. This modular design allows the user to purchase only the back plane size required. A maximum of 32 modules can be joined to control 62 loops.

Additional features include 2 alarms, which may include heater break or loop break, RS-485 communications, 2 event outputs and one event input.

The SRV is suitable for both end-users and the OEM market where reduced panel size and heat generation are concerns. These include plastics, semiconductor, test stands, environmental chambers, plastics, packaging, and other heat-related processes.
