Bloomfield, CT July 21, 2003..mk Automation, Inc. has introduced the new standardized MBF-P Modular Belt Conveyors that offer a wide variety of plastic belts in combination with various standard system components to accommodate applications in clean rooms to parts assembly, packaging of consumer goods, subassemblies and component packaging, printed materials and food packaging (FDA approved). The fully modular system employs mk structural 40 x 80 mm profile frame to provide high strength for continuous duty operations. The new belt conveyors feature a positive sprocket drive to eliminate tracking issues, can be equipped with head drive or center drive motors and utilize variable and constant speed packages, and can handle parts transport weights up to 1500 pounds. Two side T-slots allow for attachment of side rails, photo eyes, location sensors, bar scanners labelers, marking devices, end stops, diverters, and more.
A wide variety of hard, matt top plastic belts are available to permit parts accumulation in widths of 210 to 1010 mm with lengths between 400 and 10000 mm. With engineering and production at mk Automation's facilities special application assistance is available. Belting material is very low friction and extremely tough and durable, designed to handle higher temperatures as well as operate in chemical resistant environments. Materials includes polypropylene, polyethylene and acetyl.
Belts are assembled in an interlocked, bricklayered pattern with full-length hinge rods for high strength and long life. More than 30 basic belt styles are offered with various types of flat top, perforated flat top, flush grid, open grid, raise rib, friction top, roller top and more. All can be custom built to the length, width and color required. Maintenance operations such as belt tensioning or replacement of individual links are quick and easy for more economical operation.
