Herrmann Ultrasonics Introduces the ULTRACELL Mobile Workstation for its Ultrasonic Plastic Welders
Herrmann Ultrasonics will begin to offer the ULTRACELL Mobile Workstation to the North American market in January 2005. This self contained unit seamlessly integrates any of Herrmann's all-digital ultrasonic plastic welders. A DIALOG touch controller or MPC generator can be mounted externally on the side of the ULTRACELL, rigidly, or on a swivel mount, eliminating the need for any manual weld parameter adjustments inside the enclosure.
The ULTRACELL comes in two sizes; 800 x 800 mm or 1200 x 800 mm. Both units ride on heavy duty, rubberized, lockable casters for easy transport within a manufacturing facility.
The main component of the modular ULTRACELL is the sound enclosure. The interior of the sound enclosure is fluorescently lit and lined on all sides with special sound absorbing foam. Two lockable access doors are provided; one in the front, one in the back. The doors allow for easy welder access, for example when exchanging tooling such as Herrmann Ultrasonics unique quick change weld horn stack. A pneumatically driven, double insulated, vertically sliding viewing pane in the front seals the work area during a weld cycle, insuring sound control below 80 dB. The viewing pane's safety strip switch adds an additional level of protection against pinch points and works in conjunction with the other safety features of the ULTRACELL.
Integrated switches for cycle start, emergency stop, and main power disconnect are conveniently located on the front of the unit, easily within the reach of an operator whether they are standing or seated. The integrated footrest can be adjusted in height and angle to provide comfort and proper ergonomics to the operator.
