Original Press Release:

Creform Mobile Flow Rack Features Wide Spans and 1000 Pound Capacity

Creform Corporation, Greer, SC, has developed a new high-capacity mobile flow rack to meet the needs of a global industrial controls manufacturer’s enclosure assembly operations.  The control enclosures being assembled by the manufacturer contain a diverse array of components in different sizes, weights and shapes. These components need to be moved from supermarket storage to the assembly area in a variety of tote and box sizes and weights on mobile flow racks for easy retrieval.  Creform determined that wide spans on the flow racks were needed to accommodate the containers, and its 42mm pipe and component system make this possible without extra bracing.

The 42mm flow racks have five supply levels, a 1000lb capacity and measure 56" wide, 44" deep and 65" tall.  Each supply level has five flow lanes with standard and flanged skatewheel conveyors.  The flanged skatewheel conveyors handle small bins and the standard skatewheel conveyors the larger totes and boxes. The low friction skatewheel conveyors permit shallow gravity flow lane angles for guaranteed FIFO repeatable container flow, while being suitable for either plastic returnable totes or corrugated boxes.  The lanes are easily repositioned if required.

The flow racks have 4" swivel casters for easy movement with locking brakes for secure positioning. They are easily unlocked for repositioning and transporting from station to station.  The ergonomic design of the flow rack’s uprights make them easy to push, maneuver and accurately position.

The unique Creform 42mm pipe and joint system allows users to design and build pipe & joint structures using fewer components thereby requiring less man hours for assembly…added benefits to creating stronger structures.

The Creform System is used to create an array of material handling and efficiency enhancing devices and is a proven component in continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing programs. The company partners with customers in developing and implementing these programs.
