HONEYWELL Puts Windows Mobile 6 on Popular Dolphin® 7600

More power and flexibility available for the Dolphin 7600 Mobile Computer with new operating system option

Skaneateles Falls, NY - January 9, 2009 - Honeywell (NYSE: HON) today announced the availability of Windows Mobile 6 Standard on the established and real-world-tested Dolphin 7600. With this expansion of the available OS options for the Dolphin 7600, deployers and developers now have a choice for building business-focused applications on a widely-adopted platform.

Windows Mobile 6 provides application builders the benefits of working with the latest development tools and technologies, while end-users benefit from a familiar interface. Integration with Microsoft applications including Office, Internet Explorer Mobile, Exchange and Outlook, and SQL Server are core features of Windows Mobile 6, and now these business applications can be incorporated into a client's workflow. Upgrades and enhancements to the OS are also present in storage, secure communications, and remote access.

"In environments where businesses demand an 'always-on' presence and a flexible, standards-based architecture, Windows Mobile on the Dolphin 7600 provides the necessary familiarity and functionality," said Stephanie Ferguson, general manager of the Mobile Communications Business, Microsoft Corp. "Developers also benefit because their mobile applications can work across all Windows Mobile devices that businesses can employ."

Although the operating system may have changed, Honeywell still maintains the quality and value of the entry-level Dolphin 7600. The flashlight-sized ergonomic design is easy to hold over extended shifts, which are possible with a long battery life enabled by Shift-PLUS(TM) technology. The incorporated Adaptus® Imaging Technology 5.0 allows the Dolphin 7600 to read 1D and 2D bar codes, OCR fonts, and images to meet the scanning needs for a variety of retail or light industrial applications.

For developers that are set with their current applications, we still offer Windows CE 5 as an option," said Garrison Gomez, Manager of Mobility Marketing for Honeywell Scanning & Mobility. "We also have Windows Mobile 6 Professional for customers that require additional communication features. With the recent addition of Windows Mobile 6 Standard, the Dolphin 7600 enables our customers to leverage their coding expertise and get the applications they want onto their mobile computers, regardless of the Windows OS used."

The Dolphin 7600 will be on display in booth #2231 at the 98th Annual NRF Conference & EXPO. NRF will take place from January 11-14, 2009 at the Jacob K. Javits Center in New York City, New York.
