IKA® Introduces Process Pilot(TM) Mixer for New Product R&D Applications

Wilmington, NC - The unique design of the new IKA® Process Pilot(TM) mixer helps companies get new products to market faster by easing the transition from R&D to production quantities. It is ideally suited to chemical, pharmaceutical, and food processing in laboratory or pilot plant applications.

IKA's modular, belt drive system connects the servo-motor and the mixing chambers allowing each IKA mixer to operate at identical tip speeds. This means processors can count on the production line quality being the same as that achieved by the R&D department, eliminating costly reformulation or re-engineering during production start-ups.

The Process Pilot is designed for multiple uses including mixing, dispersing, wet grinding, and powder incorporation. Four interchangeable mixing tools and up to three stages provide for maximum flexibility. Six different mixing head options are also available. Also due to its unique modular design, maintenance and repair are much simpler than with traditional mixers.

The new mixer has a double mechanical seal for processes requiring higher pressures, or containing highly abrasive solids. All product contact surfaces are 316 SS.

Available accessories include a vessel, re-circulation loop, pumps, a solids feeder and a process speed controller with timer function and temperature indicator. The standard generator is 4M (medium), with 2P, 2G and 6F generators optional.

Established in 1986 to serve the North and South American markets, IKA Works has continually grown to serve an increasing demand for mixing capabilities. IKA manufactures in-line and batch mixers, colloid mills, powder incorporation products and systems with unique applications in the chemical, pharmaceutical, and food industries.
