Mitsubishi to Introduce Fiber Laser Technology at Fabtech

Wood Dale, IL - Mitsubishi will unveil a brand new Fiber Laser line at Fabtech 2012, to be held in Las Vegas Nov. 12-14. There are plenty of fiber laser systems available out there, but you've never seen one like this before.

The revolutionary new 3015 NX-F Fiber Laser will come standard with a fiber laser oscillator, a z-axis linear drive, head preset auto-focus processing, a 64-bit NC with 15-in. touch screen NC-panel, and more. The stroke on the new NX-F will be 125.9" (3198 mm) by 62.9" (1598 mm) by 4.7" (119 mm), with positioning accuracy of 0.0019/20" (0.05/500 mm). And the rapid traverse rate on the single axis machines will be 4724 in. (120 m) per minute, or 6680 in. (170 m) per minute on simultaneous machines.

"This isn't the first fiber laser, but we took the time in research and development to make sure that when we entered the market, we had it right," says Bill Isaac, VP of Mitsubishi Laser.

The company will also show the 2D eX machine, the most productive and efficient 2D laser machine yet. Replacing former LVP series, eX is the fifth generation in a line of powerful 2D Mitsubishi Lasers. The machine delivers low running costs and eco-friendly features for power and gas consumption, and stable operation for greater productivity. New to the show will be eX model 3015 eX 60XF, featuring a powerful 6000 watt resonator.

The eX line features an eco mode that cuts running costs by up to 90 percent during standby. Carbon dioxide emissions are reduced by around 30 percent compared to competitor machines. The machine's new compact design provides a small footprint without reducing table size.

Another featured product will be the XL Laser line of large-size laser processing machines designed to deliver exceptional reliability, stability and productivity in thick sheet cutting applications.

Mitsubishi's highly rigid, large-size laser processing machines are equipped with a 45CF-R resonator, achieving high-quality beam, superb accuracy and superior cost-effectiveness. The space-saving design is equipped with a resonator, cooling unit and control unit. Mitsubishi's resonators are renowned throughout the world for their ability to deliver stable beam quality.

Mitsubishi broadens its supply chain offering with the introduction of an entry-level waterjet machine, the MWX3. This new machine is ideal for production environments and customers new to waterjet. The model features a bevel head - ideal for fabricators as it can be used for weld prep - and the solid base construction and cantilever head design make it both reliable and affordable.

MWX3 comes standard with a high pressure S-50 KMT pump, which provides 60,000 PSI of water traveling up to MACH 2 with 1.09 GPM of water consumption through a maximum orifice size of 0.013." The reciprocating hydraulic piston to ceramic water piston ratio is 20:1, pushing the water into an accumulator that maintains a smooth even flow to the cutting nozzle.

For press brake, Mitsubishi will display a range of sizes and features guaranteeing the right solution for any shop's needs. The BB Series ball screw brake is driven by an AC Servo motor and ball screw mechanism. It has reached high productivity with a high-speed ram and high precision repeatability (± 0.001mm). And the BH Series Dual Drive System press brake, different from conventional servo hydraulic mechanisms, separately controls high-speed up and down movement by AC servo motor and ball screw drive and hydraulic pressure movement. By the Dual Drive System, high-speed down-movement at 200mm/sec and stable repeat-stop accuracy by AC servo motor and hydraulic drive are enabled, realizing high productivity.

Finally, the Dener Diamond Elite press brake will also be on hand, representing the series of large, affordable brakes, accommodating weights ranging from 40 to 2,000 tons and offering three to more than 11-axis capabilities.

"Our product lineup is always changing, always growing, always evolving, because it reflects our customers who are doing the same," says Isaac, VP. "We are excited about the addition of the new fiber laser line, our more powerful eX line, and a host of other improvements and advancements - stop by our booth at Fabtech, #C-3040, and we'll be happy to show you around."

Mitsubishi's superior products are backed by industry-leading service and support. With regional satellite service locations across the country, our localized service teams can respond instantly. Our knowledgeable service team will be at the booth to discuss how Mitsubishi goes above and beyond to deliver excellence in customer service.
