Mt. Prospect, Ill. (May 5, 2006) - Bosch Power Tools and Accessories announced the expansion of its cordless Ni-Cad power tool line with the addition of the 3918 18-volt 10-inch Compound Miter Saw. Boasting up to 100 cuts in 1-inch-by-6-inch pine on a single charge, the newest cordless miter saw is the perfect addition to any Bosch professional 18-volt cordless system.
No longer will a lack of power or a remote location deter professionals from the convenience of bringing their saw to the work. With the cordless Bosch 3918, professionals such as trim carpenters, remodelers, flooring installers and deck builders have all the power they need to make quick and easy cuts anytime and anywhere.
A sturdy 21-inch wide aluminum base acts as the saw's backbone. Convenient sliding extensions expand the base to 24-inches to provide extra support for longer material. A 3-½-inch fence smoothly slides to the left for easy bevel setups and increased crown molding cutting capacity, while a quick release lever makes the adjustment a snap.
Quick and accurate crown molding cuts are possible with special miter and bevel detents at 31.6 and 33.9 -degrees, respectively. The Bosch-exclusive wedge and slot miter detent system secures consistent and precise miter angles. A miter detent override adds to the convenience when setting neighboring angles for custom cuts. Furthermore, a spindle lock makes blade changes quick and easy.
The newest cordless Bosch miter saw is available as a kit (3918) with a single long-lasting 2.4 AMP Bluecore(TM) battery - guaranteed for two years, one-hour Bosch charger, 24 tooth blade, material clamp and dust bag.
