Metabo Adds 10 Inch Miter Saw to New Line of Woodworking Tools

West Chester, PA, May 2005 - Metabo, a leading international manufacturer of professional grade portable electric power tools and abrasives for industrial, construction and welding applications, has added a 10" miter saw to its new line of woodworking tools. The KGS 303 10" Dual Bevel Sliding Compound Miter Saw is ideal for cutting crown molding, picture frame moldings, and 2x4s or 4x4s, as well as building drawers, cabinets, stairs, decks and sheds.

The KGS 303 is ideal for crosscutting material up to 12" wide and 3-3/4" high. The saw features Metabo's industry-unique dust collection system, which efficiently removes dust through the base of the saw. The dual bevel saw head tilts up to 48°, allowing users to place the finished side of the material face up for clean cutting edges.

The saw features a turntable position that can be easily adjusted between 50° on the left and 60° on the right with bevel stops at 0°, 22.5° and 45° and miter stops at 0°, 15°, 22.5°, 30° and 45° on both sides. The integrated saw blade lock and tool make changing the saw blade simple.

The 10" miter saw weighs only 42 lbs., making it easily portable. The motor is center-mounted to balance the weight of the saw. A lock-out feature is incorporated into the switches, and cords are kept safely away from the blade with a clip on the back of the saw rails.

The cutting depth is 3-3/4" at 90° and 2-5/8" at 45°; cutting width is 12" at 90° and 8" at 45°. The powerful 15-amp, 2,000-watt motor achieves a no-load speed of 5,020 rpm. The KGS 303 comes with a 10" x 48-tooth carbide-tipped blade and is the only tool of its kind to include additional fences for more height.

The KGS 303 is part of Metabo's first-ever line of benchtop woodworking tools, which includes three miter saws, a table saw and a planer. All five products were designed for Metabo by Elektra-Beckum (part of the Metabo Group since 1999) and feature innovative designs and Elektra-Beckum's signature electric blue color.
