Mirtec Picks up Its 24TH Industry Award at SMTAI

MIRTEC, “The Global Leader in Inspection Technology,” announces that it was awarded a 2014 Global Technology Award in the category of LED Production Equipment for its MV-9XP LED Package Inspection System. The award was presented to the company during a Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2014 ceremony that took place at the Donald Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL during SMTA International.
Brian D’Amico, President of MIRTEC Corp stated: “LEDs are used in a variety of different applications ranging from LCD flat panel displays, automotive lighting and even household and street lighting. Automated Optical Inspection is required at two different stages within the LED packaging process. In the first stage LED; wire bonds, chip die and stitch balls are inspected for defects prior to encapsulation. MIRTEC’s MV-9XP LED Inspection System was specifically developed to address these LED manufacturing requirements.”
The MV-9XP is configured with MIRTEC’s exclusive 15 Mega Pixel ISIS Vision System. This proprietary camera system is designed and manufactured by MIRTEC for use with its complete product range of inspection equipment. The system features a Super High Resolution 5 micron per pixel Precision Compound Telecentric Lens and a High Intensity Blue LED Lighting System to perform precision bond wire, chip die and stitch ball inspection.
