Flesh Tone Insulator Tubes for Easier Mining Coupler Maintenance
Cleveland, OH - Adalet-PLM mining couplers are now easier to maintain due to a change in insulator tube color from light gray to flesh tone. This change will make dirt, contamination, and tracking more identifiable in surface and deep mining applications where lighting is poor. The new flesh tone material is made from quality Kerite® EP, similar to the light gray material previously used. The new color maintains the same electrical properties, but offers more track resistance and less degredation from corona. Kerite® is a registered trademark of The Kerite Company.
Adalet-PLM offers a line of high voltage cable couplers for 500 amp applications up to 15,000 volts. Three different coupling designs are available, each color coded for immediate coupler recognition in the field. The standard threaded body Aluminum), the Quick-Thread 2-1/2 turn joining collar (green), and the Quick-Turn threadless coupler (Orange). All Adalet-PLM couplers are completely metal enclosed and are designed so that the first contact to make and the last contact to break is the ground contact. Adalet-PLM also offers teflon insulators for increased track resistance as well as new set screw contacts as an alternate to the standard solder style. All Adalet couplers are designed to meet or exceed the requirements of IEEE-48.
