Miniature Switches are rocker and paddle actuated.

Press Release Summary:

PCB-mount M series features bias guard that prevents misalignment of contacts, interlocking of actuator block with rocker, and internal guide that does not allow transmission of diagonal force on actuator to reach contact mechanism. With mechanical life rated at 50,000 operations min, series is offered in 1-4 poles with multiple circuit configurations, including momentary and maintained action. Switches can be specified with power, logic level, or dual ratings.

NKK Switches Offers Unique Series of Miniature Switches

M Series Rockers and paddle actuated devices

Scottsdale, Ariz. (Nov. 15, 2004) NKK Switches, leading manufacturer of electromechanical switches, announces the M series of miniature PCB mounted rocker and paddle devices.

The NKK series of miniature rockers/paddles have many distinctive features and accessory options which set them apart from other miniature switches currently offered in the marketplace. Unique characteristics of the M series include a bias guard that prevents misalignment of contacts, interlocking of the actuator block with rocker and internal guide that does not allow transmission of diagonal force on the actuator to reach the contact mechanism. Prominent external insulating barriers increase insulation resistance and dielectric strength. Mechanical life is rated at 50,000 operations minimum. The molded case has a UL 94V-0 flammability rating. All models are UL Recognized and CSA Certified.

The M series is offered in one, two, three or four poles with multiple circuit configurations including momentary and maintained action. Rocker and paddle styles are varied in size, shape and color. Accessory options include snap in bezels, with or without side mounted single or dual LED's in round or rectangular shapes.

Available mounting methods include-flat frame for flush with face or sub panel, and snap in, for straight PC mounts. In addition, PCB bracketed models can be configured in straight PC, with or without reinforced brackets, right angle and vertical mounts. Terminals are epoxy sealed to lock out flux and other contaminants.

These distinctive rocker/paddle switches can be specified with power, logic level or dual ratings. Engineers can choose from silver, gold, or gold over silver contacts. Electrical capacity is rated at either 6A @ 125V AC (3A @ 250V AC) or 0.4VA maximum @ 28V AC/DC maximum, depending on the model specified. Gold over silver models have dual ratings. High insulating barriers increase the isolation of the circuits in multi-pole devices, and provide added protection to contact points. The clinching of the frame to the case, well above the base and terminals, provides 1500V dielectric strength.
