Miniature Self-Locking Fasteners offer vibration resistance.

Press Release Summary:

Available in No. 00 and M1.0 sizes, BLUE® Nylon fasteners with self-locking patch are adjustable, removable, and reusable. Nylon patch is permanently sprayed onto threads of fastener. When mating threads are engaged, nylon element is compressed and tries to regain original shape, establishing counterforce and creating metal-to-metal contact that sets up positive resistance to vibration. Pliable nylon material retains locking properties at temperatures up to 250°F.

Miniature Self-Locking Fasteners from Nylok

With its unique patented process, Nylok Corporation can apply a BLUE® Nylon self-locking patch to fasteners as small as #00 and M1.0 - and make the miniature fasteners vibration-resistant for the needs of today's information appliance industry. The pre-applied element also provides a more reliable hold against vibration than chemical products that are messy, uncontrollable and time-intensive when applied on assembly lines.

NYLOK BLUE® Nylon self-locking patch fasteners are adjustable, removable and reusable in cases where the information appliance needs to be serviced. In the self-locking process developed by Nylok, a nylon patch is permanently sprayed onto the threads of the fastener. When mating threads are engaged, the tough, resilient nylon element is compressed and then tries to regain its original shape, establishing a strong counterforce and creating a strong metal-to-metal contact that sets up a positive resistance to vibration. The pliable nylon material retains its locking properties at temperatures up to 250°F, and allows the fasteners to be adjusted and even reused.

A member of The Marmon Group of companies, Nylok Corporation is the world leader in value-added fastener parts and holds more patents for innovative fastener technology than any other company.
