NKK Switches Announces MB2400 Series Snap-Acting Pushbuttons Miniature Pushbuttons Offer Hundreds of Options
Scottsdale, Ariz. (April 28, 2004) - NKK Switches and its authorized distributors are offering a series of high reliability, miniature snap-acting pushbuttons. Offering a combination of innovative design and hundreds of options, the MB2400 series provides a comprehensive array of selections designed to suit any application.
The MB2400 series of momentary action pushbuttons feature a snap-acting mechanism providing smooth actuation, a short stroke, light touch and audible feedback. These devices are available in single pole or double pole models, with gold, silver, or gold over silver contacts. The series is rated at either 3A @ 125V AC for silver, 0.4VA maximum @ 28V AC/DC for gold, or dual rating when gold over silver is specified. The extensive design selections of the MB2400 series include devices with bushings as well as snap-in mounted versions.
Bushing mount models feature a high torque bushing construction that prevents rotation or separation from the frame during installation. Engineers can specify a multitude of bushing options such as different heights, smooth or threaded with keyway, round or D-flatted shapes. Terminal options include solder lug, straight PC (bracketed and un-bracketed), wire wrap, vertical and right angle PC mounting. The straight PC versions come in many different terminal lengths with standard or reinforced brackets. The plungers are metal, ensuring durability, and are designed to accept different sized snap-on caps, in a variety of colors.
The MB2400 series snap-in mount versions are unique in their available configurations, in that design engineers can be creative in their specifications for these devices. There are four different bezel styles, three of which allow LEDs to be mounted within the frame of the bezel. Engineers can choose a single LED in green or red, or dual LEDs in red, green or yellow. In addition, for dual LED versions, either round or rectangular LEDs can be specified. The MB2400 series can be used to indicate status at a single glance.
NKK offers these devices completely pre-assembled at no additional charge. Panel cut-out sizes vary based on configuration, ranging from 13.1mm X 15mm to 18.4mm X 15mm. Available terminations include solder lug, straight PC and wire-wrap. The 11.5 mm square pushbutton cap lends itself easily to legending. Legend packets are available on line from NKK or upon request.
The MB2400 series offers an anti-jamming design to protect the contacts from excessive downward force on the actuator, and stainless steel frames to resist corrosion. Terminals are epoxy-sealed to prevent the entry of solder flux and other contaminants. All devices feature a long mechanical life of 200,000 operations minimum. This series is both UL Recognized and CSA Certified. In addition, UL94V-0 versions are available.
