Broadview (Chicago), Illinois, November/December 2005. Universal joint manufacturer Belden Inc. introduces high precision miniature joints. With an outer diameter as small as 8 mm, the new joints are suited specifically for miniature machinery, medical equipment, model making and many applications in which space is restricted.

Originally developed in 303 stainless steel for a manually operated minimal invasive surgical instrument, the miniature joints are also available in various grades of stainless steel and alloy heat-treated steel. The standard version has an operational angle of deflection of up to 35°. On request, Belden can develop modified versions with a higher angle of deflection or double universal joint assemblies.
