Miniature Integrated Duplexer minimizes component count.

Press Release Summary:

Suited for use as key RF component for CDMA handsets, hermetically sealed TMX DU W307 replaces 2 individual SAW filters and 3 passive components with one plug-and-play, 0.2 x 0.2 in. package. Lead (Pb)-free, RoHs-compliant duplexer allows handsets to meet 3GPP2 specifications and simplifies CDMA450 system design.

Temex Announces the Launch of a Miniature Integrated Solution: A .2 X .2 in. CDMA450 Duplexer

Chicago, April 6, 2006
Temex, one of the worldwide leaders in the field of high-performance time and frequency components and sub-systems, announces the launch of an integrated duplexer for CDMA450 Systems, the TMX DU W307. Hermetically sealed and just slightly larger than a single SAW filter, it promises to be the key RF component for CDMA handsets replacing five traditional components for a smaller, more cost-effective end-product, and a faster time-to-market.

Already the number-one supplier of CDMA450 SAW filters, Temex is launching this new duplexer, as part of the latest push in miniaturization to developing new SAW chips and use integrated passive devices, which is particularly challenging at low radio frequencies such as those used with CDMA systems. The duplexer replaces two individual SAW filters and three passive components, with clear advantages such as a high integration level, which simplifies the CDMA450 handset design, cost savings with using one device instead of five, and board space-saving because the PCB surface is four times smaller; all of which lead to a faster time-to-market, says Exael Alexander, a business development manager at Temex.

This duplexer is designed to allow handsets to meet the 3GPP2 specifications, particularly the Single Tone Desensitization test. To date, no competing products meet the 3GPP2 specifications, and Temex is the only manufacturer to achieve this breakthrough technical performance. Additionally, because this duplexer is totally lead-free, it's compliant with RoHs regulation 2002/95/CE. Major CDMA chipmakers have already approved it, referencing its superiority to the competition having a 10 db higher isolation level and a 1 W higher power handling for a 5+ year lifetime.

Plug-and-play models or samples of this new duplexer are available for system validation.
