THK Further Miniaturizes Type SRS Miniature LM Guide

Schaumburg, IL - (August 26, 2004) THK's Caged Ball LM Guide Type SRS is now available in more compact miniature versions - the SRS7M and the SRS7WM. Previously, miniature versions of the Type SRS came in rail widths as small as 9mm. The latest Type SRS Miniature is now available with a rail as small as 7mm.

Featuring patented THK Caged Technology, the Type SRS performs with smooth, quiet motion. Caged Technology employs a synthetic resin cage with a patented curvature that cradles each ball and separates it from the next. The spaces between the rolling elements retain grease and act as a lubrication system for long-term maintenance-free operation. Other Caged Technology benefits of the Type SRS Miniature include increased speed and accuracy, decreased noise levels, low dust generation and long life.

Further contributing to the long-term performance of the Type SRS Miniature is stainless steel bearing construction. The SRS Miniature also features a design where each row of balls is arranged at a 45 degree angle. As a result, the same load rating is applied to the bearing in radial, reverse radial and both lateral directions. Lightweight and compact, the Type SRS Miniature is ideal for installation in confined spaces.

The overwhelming success of THK's caged technology has propelled the expansion of caged technology throughout the product line. THK is also expanding their product offering to include larger and smaller sizes as well as new materials and technology to achieve superior results in the most demanding applications.
