Thomson Industries Announces New Miniature Ball Screws



Saginaw, MI - As a result of increased demand for miniaturization within high-tech industries such as semiconductor, optics and instrumentation, Thomson Industries has launched a new range of miniature ball screws.

Utilizing internal ball-return technology, they provide high efficiency (typically 95%) and repeatability, precise positioning, and smooth, reliable motion.

The standard diameter starts at 4mm, with 1mm lead, and will include 6mm and 8mm diameters as well.

Manufactured as both rolled and ground units, they also will be available in a range of precision classes - from ISO3 to ISO7 (0.012/300mm to 0.050/300mm).

The units have nylon wipers as standard to protect them from the ingress of contamination and can be supplied with ends machined complete to the customers' specification.
