Miniature AC-DC Power Supplies deliver 5 and 10 W.

Press Release Summary:

Operating from universal input of 85–264 Vac, 5 Watt Series ECE05 measures 1 x 1 x 0.6 in., while 10 Watt Series ECE10 measures 1.5 x 1 x 0.6 in. Both encapsulated board mount power supplies cover nominal output voltages from +3.3 to +48 Vdc. Peak load capability permits output of up to 130% of nominal output power to cater for short-term high power loads. Featuring convection-cooled design, units operate from -25 to +70°C, with no derating until +50°C.

Original Press Release:

World's Smallest 5 & 10 Watt AC-DC Power Supplies

XP Power today announced the launch of what are believed to be the world’s smallest 5 & 10 Watt single output AC-DC power supplies. Measuring just 1 x 1 x 0.6 inches, (25.4 x 25.4 x 15.24 mm) the miniature 5 Watt ECE05 series of encapsulated board mount power supplies are ideal for end-product designs where the available board space is at a premium and a low power high power density supply is required.

Complementing the ECE05 series, the ECE10 series provides 10 Watt output from an equally compact encapsulated package measuring just 1.5 x 1 x 0.6 inches (38.1 x 25.4 x 15.24 mm).

Both series comprise seven models covering the popular nominal output voltages from + 3.3 to + 48 VDC, all from a wide universal input of 85-264 VAC with Class II construction, meaning no earth or ground connection is required. All models meet the internationally recognized no-load power consumption limit of less than 0.3 Watt and average efficiency limits ensuring end-products can comply with world-wide energy efficiency standards.

A peak load capability permits an output of up to 130 % of nominal output power to cater for short-term high power loads without the need to specify a higher rated power module, saving both board space and additional cost.

The ECE05/10 modules are convection cooled and operate without the need for additional heat sinking or forced airflow. Operating temperature is across the range of – 25 to + 70 degrees C, with no derating until + 50 degrees C.

The units meet international IT safety standards EN60950-1, UL609501-1 and CSA22.2 No. 234.  They also comply with EN55022 level B limits for conducted and radiated EMC without the need for any additional filtering components.

The ECE05 is priced at $14.82 and the ECE10 is $21.06 for 500 pcs orders.
