Portwell Adds Intel 910GMLE Chipset to Its Portfolio of Mini-ITX Embedded System Boards



FREMONT, CALIF. -May 7, 2009-American Portwell Technology, Inc., (http://www.portwell.com) a wholly owned subsidiary of Portwell, Inc., a world-leading innovator in the embedded computing market and a member of the Intel® Embedded and Communications Alliance (Intel ECA), announces two additions to its portfolio of Mini-ITX embedded system boards: WADE-8044 and WADE-8047. Both boards are powered by Intel Celeron® M/Pentium® M processors using Intel mobile 910GMLE and ICH6-M chipset to provide dual independent display in a low voltage, fanless solution. WADE-8044 supports VGA, 18-bit LVDS and DVI. WADE-8047 supports VGA and LVDS. Both WADE-8044 and WADE-8047 Mini-ITX boards include two 240-pin DIMMs that support dual-channel DDR2 SDRAM up to 2GB; dual Gigabit Ethernet ports and one PCI slot; storage via IDE, SATA and one Type II Compact Flash; four COM ports; and eight USB 2.0 ports. The new embedded system boards are the ideal choice for a diversity of applications that includ e medical, gaming, lottery and digital signage.

Competitive Advantage

Cost-Effective Additions
According to Frank Shen, American Portwell Technology's product marketing director, Portwell's new WADE-8044 and WADE-8047 Mini-ITX boards were developed in response to the market demand for cost-effective or entry-level embedded board with low voltage, dual display solutions that were also fanless. "WADE-8044 features VGA and DVI on I/O and WADE-8047 features dual VGA on I/O," Shen confirms.
