Stellram's New 7792VXD Milling Cutters Improve Metal Removal Rates Up To 90%

La Vergne, TN-Stellram introduces its latest in a series of high productivity milling cutters. The 7792VXD family of tools reduces part costs by dramatically improving metal removal rates. The 7792VXD is designed for facemilling at shallow depths of cut (max .098" ap) and high feed rates (max .118" fz). Metal removal rates are improved by as much as 90% when compared to results produced with conventional cutters.

The 7792VXD family was created as a roughing tool for moldmakers. In addition to high feed facemilling, this family is capable of pocketing, slotting, and plunging.

The tools are available as facemills or with Weldon(TM) shanks. Inserts are available in both 9mm and 12mm sizes. The inserts feature 4 cutting edges for economy. Modular heads and heavy metal extensions are available with the 9mm range.

Cutting forces are directed axially into the spindle, lessening spindle wear and improving stability. Both modern and older equipment can benefit from the adoption of this technology.

Stellram's latest grade, X400, is standard with this tooling range, the preferred choice for machining hardened steel.

The manufacturer also provides software to recommend cutting conditions and to calculate power, torque, and force requirements for a wide range of materials.
