Millennial Net Announces Wireless Solutions for Enterprise Energy Management

New hardware and software are designed to make a significant impact on energy conservation, energy use management and policy driven by enterprise-wide Energy and Green strategies.

BURLINGTON, Mass., June 12 /-- Millennial Net introduces revolutionary wireless energy management solutions at Sensor-2007 EXPO*. The initial release includes several new wireless devices and web-based software in an integrated architecture ideal for commercial, industrial, educational and governmental organizations with single or multi-site applications.

Wil Chin, ARC Advisory Group, commented, "rather than developing general horizontal wireless products, Millennial Net's application focus is providing energy users a solution to improve their bottom line that were previously impractical. With the price of energy expected to explode in the coming years, energy management is becoming a burgeoning area for many enterprises. Millennial Net's unique set of solutions leverages the internet and easy to deploy wireless sensor networks to monitor and analyze energy consumption to get the most out of their energy investment dollars."

Millennial Net is a leading worldwide provider of commercial and industrial wireless networking systems that enable users, OEMs and systems integrators quickly and cost-effectively implement wireless sensor networks. The company's advanced products and services can help customers save time and costs through wireless remote monitoring and management of critical devices.

FLEXIBLE FRAMEWORK
Millennial Net's MeshScape(R) Energy Management System architecture provides the integrated framework for MeshScape-compatible devices to be combined into comprehensive remote monitoring and control applications. The industrial-class wireless MeshScape networking technology is a proven robust and scaleable foundation. This self-forming and self-healing network enables wireless sensors to be easily installed and put into service with minimal cost and disruption to existing facilities and operations.

This architecture is open to third party devices, software applications and services. Mark O'Hearne, VP-Millennial Net, commented: "We are working with energy management hardware and software vendors, energy consultants and energy service companies (ESCOs) who offer value-added products and services."

ENERGY METERING
Energy-conscious organizations understand that if you can't measure it, you can't control consumption. Thus, having a comprehensive view of dynamic energy consumption is vital and must be analyzed with respect to energy load attributes such as equipment type, capacity, and location and in relationship to other sensor data such as external temperature. Millennial Net introduces the Wi-Pulse to leverage existing utility pulse-meter outputs, in order to capture and wirelessly communicate utility consumption such as gas, oil, water and electricity. The energy management framework also integrates third-party devices, including the MeshScape-compatible Wi-LEM, from LEM group. LEM is a market leader in providing innovative and high quality solutions for measuring electrical parameters ( www.lem.com/ ).

To accelerate the customer's return-on-investment, benefiting from multi- site monitoring of such metering/submeter information, Millennial Net also introduces a new Metering and Sub-metering module for its Wi-EMS energy management software application. This comprehensive solution overcomes the cost and difficulty of deploying and managing a multi-site retrofit program.

HVAC MONITORING AND CONTROL
The waste of heating and cooling is a problem that plagues most building managers seeking better energy efficiency. Commercial, industrial, residential and municipal building operators and occupants struggle over the rising cost of energy and environmental impact. Millennial Net introduces a solution to balance the needs of both and address the major shortcomings of solutions on the market today. The new Wi-EMS module for HVAC and wireless Wi-Stat and Wi- Zone devices, takes a different approach from that of most HVAC building automation systems. Energy management savings are achieved by improved compliance and energy policy enforcement.

The Wi-Stat and Wi-Zone devices provide reliable zone comfort and improved energy policy compliance. Wi-Stat has a familiar thermostat coupled with a MeshScape networking capability that affords ease-of-use, remote monitoring and control. Wi-Zone measures and communicates temperature and humidity.

The Wi-Stat allows the local occupant some temperature set point adjustment and overrides. However, this is constrained by Wi-Stat local supervisory control of its thermostat. The Wi-EMS module provides remote monitoring and enforcement of set-point policies to prevent wasting energy.
